In 2002 AD, I graduated from M. Art Theatre with a Diploma in Acting and Theatre Production. With Mr Birendra Hamal as my mentor, Mr Rajkumar Pudasaini and Mr Arjun BC helped me with the diverse aspects of performing arts and dance.
I got a chance to work with different art and theatre groups of Kathmandu like Mandapika Art Group, I am one of the co-founders of this group; Shilpee Theatre (Art Group), I am one of the co-founders of this group; Aarohan Gurukul and many other theatre groups of that time.
My first act was in the theatre production ‘Andhoo Yug (2002)’, a pass out production produced by M. Art Theatre and directed by Mr Birendra Hamal. I played the character of ‘Aswathama’ in that play. After the successful completion of three months intensive acting course from M. Art Theatre, I got a chance to act in a play called ‘Andhabeg (2003)’, written by Balkrishna Sama and directed by Mr Rajkumar Pudasaini in the ‘National Drama Competition’ organized by Nepal Academy. Afterwards, I participated in different theatrical productions (More than 25) as an actor, director, set director, art director and designer. Some, of the prestigious productions, that I want to remember are ‘Aswathama Hato Hata (2003)’, ‘Bari Lai (2004)’, ‘Bishe Nagarchi (2004)’, ‘Yo Prem (2005/06)’, ‘Bhitte Ghadi (2008)’, ‘The Apple Cart (2007)‘, ‘Naya Nepal (2007)‘, ‘Nahareko Manche (2007)’, ‘Aastha (2008)’, and ‘Chiriyeka Sanjhharu (2008)‘. And, yes, I have to remember the play ‘Aastha‘ directed by Mr Rambabu Regmi, from which I won ‘Best Actor Award’ in the ‘Regional Drama Competition’ organized by ‘Sanskirtik Sansthan- Nach Ghar’ in 2008 in Nepalgunj. And, the drama ‘Chiriyeka Sanjhharu‘ is the last play of my life. Laters, I took a break from the theatre field and get into the ‘Development Communications’ field and started a career as ‘Communications Professional’. I joined LI-BIRD, Pokhara in 2009 as ‘Training, Information and Publication Officer.
Furthermore, I have also acted in a short film named ‘Dhulo‘, featured film ‘Banphool‘ and a few music videos namely ‘Kun Ho Hamro Dharma’ by ‘The Shadows Band’ and ‘Nakkali Maiya’ by ‘The Ethos Band’. Also, I am the founder of ‘ActShala‘, an open platform of/for actors and artists who want to make differences in theatre and films.
